Stay : The navigators' route and the tour of the Gaspé Peninsula

One of the most beautiful tours in the province, where you can fill your lungs with salt air and your eyes with simply grandiose landscapes. Please note that this road trip is to be done from June to the end of September, as many tourist attractions close out of season.

The villages of the Côte-du-Sud are among the most beautiful in the province, especially the one where you will spend the night, Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, which is also full of good restaurants and points of interest.

Day 2: Day 2. Rimouski

Steps: Le Bic, Pointe-Au-Pere, Rimouski, Îles Du Bas-Saint-Laurent

Departure for Rimouski in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. Along the way, you can take a sea excursion to the Lower St. Lawrence Islands, discover the natural wonders of Bic National Park or delve into maritime history at Pointe-au-Père.

Day 3: Day 3. The Coast

Steps: Grand-Metis, Sainte-Anne-Des-Monts, Sainte-Flavie

In the morning, head for the Gaspé Peninsula and stop off at Sainte-Flavie, if only for its art center, meadery and seafood canteens. Then head for Grand-Métis to visit the Jardins de Métis, one of the region's star attractions. Then head back to Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, where you'll find Exploramer (to discover the different marine ecosystems of the St. Lawrence) and a number of fine inns where you can spend the night.

Day 4: Day 4. Gaspesie National Park

Steps: Sainte-Anne-Des-Monts

Full day of exploration of the Gaspesie National Park (the park service center is about 40 km south of Sainte-Anne-des-Monts via route 299).

Places of interest :
PARC NATIONAL DE LA GASPÉSIE

Day 5: Day 5. Gaspé

Steps: Cap-Des-Rosiers, Gaspé, L'Anse-Au-Griffon, L'Anse-À-Valleau

Drive to Gaspé with a few possible stops along the coast, notably the historic site of Pointe-à-la-Renommée, L'Anse-au-Griffon and Cap-des-Rosiers. Once in Gaspé, visit the Micmac Interpretation Site of Gespeg and/or the Musée de la Gaspésie.

Day 6: Day 6. Forillon and Percé National Park

Steps: Gaspé, Percé, Grande-Grave

Visit Forillon National Park (possibility of a whale watching cruise at Grande-Grave) and drive to Percé in the late afternoon. Accommodations, gourmet addresses and boutiques follow one another without a break on route 132, in the heart of the village.

Places of interest :
PARC NATIONAL FORILLON

Day 7: Day 7. Perce

Steps: Percé, L'Anse-À-Beaufils

Two must-do activities are on the program: a boat trip to visit the Bonaventure Island and Percé Rock National Park and the discovery of the Percé Geopark, a member of the UNESCO World Geoparks. For the evening, we recommend taking a look at the program of shows at La Vieille Usine de L'Anse-à-Beaufils.

Day 8: Day 8. Baie des Chaleurs

Steps: Bonaventure, New Carlisle, Paspébiac, L'Anse-À-Beaufils

En route, stop at L'Anse-à-Beaufils for the Authentic Historical General Store, at Paspébiac for the Paspébiac National Historic Site and at New Carlisle for theEspace René-Lévesque dedicated to the founder of the Parti Québécois. Drive to Bonaventure where you will spend the night.

Day 9: Day 9. Baie des Chaleurs

Visit the Bioparc de la Gaspésie or the Musée acadien du Québec. Another option: outdoor activities at CIME Aventures. Don't miss a canoe trip on the clear waters of the Bonaventure River. Depart for Nouvelle and visit Parc national de Miguasha and its fossil site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Evening and overnight in Carleton-sur-Mer.

Day 10: Day 10. Matapedia Valley and Rivière-du-Loup

Steps: Riviere-Du-Loup

The loop of the Gaspe tour ends today by crossing the Matapedia valley. You will then head for Rivière-du-Loup in the Lower St. Lawrence region (as you will be going back in the opposite direction, this is the perfect opportunity to visit some of the points of interest you didn't have time for on the way).

Day 11: Day 11. Kamouraska and the Côte-du-Sud

Steps: Kamouraska, Riviere-Du-Loup

When leaving Rivière-du-Loup, we absolutely recommend a stop in Kamouraska and allow time to explore all its gourmet addresses. Afterwards, you can either finish your tour today or add a night in the Côte-du-Sud region to enjoy one last time the attractions of the Chaudière-Appalaches region.
