" Where there are rushes at the water 's edge": that's what the natives called this place, blessed by the gods. It's one of the oldest villages on the south coast, and consequently one of the most picturesque. Here begins the sea: freshwater is now saltwater. Arthur Buies, the famous Quebec journalist, said: "To go to the salt water is to go to Kamouraska". At low tide, you can walk across to the islands. Gourmet delights and arts and crafts are also on the program: fishmongers, chocolate makers, bakers, delicatessens, farms, soap factories, art galleries and craft stores, and more. Plan to spend a few hours!
