GÉOPARC MONDIAL UNESCO DE PERCÉ
UNESCO Geopark at Percé, with facilities on all 23 geosites, to visit simply or on a guided tour.
Established in the region since 2016, the Percé UNESCO Global Geopark explores 500 million years of Earth's history and offers numerous educational and outdoor activities. It is the first geopark in Quebec to receive this recognition. The experiential pavilion features the immersive multimedia experience TEKTONIK. This is built around the major geological phenomena that have shaped the local landscape: the Percé Rock, the sea, the mountains, the cave and the crevasse. The outdoor multimedia projection - La Légende de Gluskap (The Legend of Gluskap) - can be seen every evening throughout the summer, and presents the creation story of the Micmac people. A number of installations can be explored on the 23 identified geosites, either on your own or as part of a guided tour (booking required). Not to be overlooked is the suspended glass platform on Mont Sainte-Anne, 200 m above sea level, offering a breathtaking view of the village of Percé, the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Percé Rock and the Parc national de l'Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé. Add to this guided hikes, science mornings, geocaching and a 230-metre double zip line. Trails and lookouts are accessible free of charge at all times. To extend the experience, the Baie de Percé campground offers serviced and unserviced sites, as well as ready-to-camp 4-season tents.
