It's worth mentioning that the town of Gaspé begins here. Comprising 17 villages along 135 km of coastline, it covers an area of 1,447 km². Some villages are even included in the Forillon National Park territory. L'Anse-à-Valleau is the gateway to the park, and its name was inspired by a daily natural movement that takes place in the area: the tides. The Pointe-à-la-Renommée historic site is THE point of interest here. Its bright red lighthouse and maritime-style wooden buildings attract visitors from far and wide, and it was here that the continent's first marine radio station was set up.
