They stretch from Montmagny to Rimouski. Off the coast of Rivière-du-Loup is the Pèlerins Archipelago. It takes its name from the mirage caused by the meeting of hot and cold air masses which, distorting the profile of these four islands, makes them look like pilgrims wearing hoods. The 7.5 km length is colonized by small penguins, but the space is contested by other birds: great blue herons, black guillemots... It is not possible to land on the Pilgrims. However, other islands are accessible just to the north, notably Île aux Lièvres and Île du Pot à l'Eau-de-Vie thanks to Société Duvetnor excursions.
