Home to the American Loyalists and the main English-speaking village on the Gaspé Peninsula, it was also the birthplace of René Lévesque, one of Quebec's most influential prime ministers (1976-1985) and founder of the Parti québécois in 1968. A special area is dedicated to him: a museum-garden comprising a pavilion and a thematic interpretation park. You'll also appreciate the beauty of the old houses and sumptuous wooden mansions, or the salt air and sea as far as the eye can see from the beaches along the boardwalk. A must-see curiosity in the village are the fountain posts decorated with cartoon characters!
