This area is best known for the Iguazú Falls and the Jesuit missions, two unmissable places to visit for anyone who passes through here. They are located in the province of Mesopotamia (in ancient Greek "between two rivers"), bounded on the west by the Rio Paraná, on the east by the Rio Uruguay and by Iguazú to the north. The Rio Paraná is the second largest river in Latin America after the Amazon. The rains are abundant in summer (December-March) and from April to October it is less hot and less humid. This area is very much dedicated to agriculture: wheat, corn, soybeans, citrus fruits, rice, but also livestock. And let's not forget yerba mate, the grass that gives its name to the country's most popular drink. Los esteros del Ibera, for the more adventurous, is an original destination, and a real paradise for bird watching. As for the province of Entre Rios, it is good to fish or bubble on the beach.
