This town of 21,000 inhabitants is located about 50 kilometres from El Soberbio in the heart of the province of Misiones. Inhabited by the aborigines for many millennia, San Vicente only saw the arrival of settlers in 1946, and the new inhabitants who landed here in the 1960s and 80s from all over the province, but also from Santa Fé, Corrientes, Buenos Aires... Recently the city has been developing thanks to tourism. In particular, it has acquired the title of "Capital of Wood" and has organised the annual "Wood Festival" since 1982.
