This small port city on the Parana River developed as a result of the agricultural boom in the northeast at the beginning of the 20th century. It is the gateway to the Pre-Delta National Park, and rural tourism is developing in its surroundings. People come here to enjoy the Paraná River and all the water activities that it allows: fishing, swimming, water games... It is sometimes called the white city, because of its clay soils and the silica that is very present in the surroundings. Its port is still very important for the province and you may see some very big ships docking on the quays
