Built on a hillside at the foot of Haut-Koenigsbourg, this wine-growing town is renowned for its Rouge de Saint-Hippolyte appellation wines. The village has preserved a large part of its fortifications, as well as the Tour des Cigognes (the only survivor of the original four towers), recognizable by its pointed roof. Built in 1316, the fortified enclosure still surrounds the entire village. You can walk around it on a signposted footpath. Inside the town, you'll discover beautiful 16th-century and 18th-century Baroque houses, as well as a fountain dating back to 1555, which faces the town hall built in 1782.
