Wolxheim is a picturesque wine-growing village of 870 inhabitants nestled between the green Bruche canal and the Horn hill. It still has a medieval air, with its winding streets next to the canal. On the edge of the village, the pretty 14th century Saint-Denis chapel stands proudly in the heart of the soft green or golden yellow vineyards, with its snow-white bell tower. The Saint-Armuth chapel and its mysterious legend hold other secrets and are another point of interest. The tradition of the wine goes back to 742 and the Riesling of this vintage would have been appreciated by Napoleon himself. Wow!
