Former property of King Dagobert II, the village is made up of very beautiful and old Alsatian houses. Its Lutheran church has a 12th century tower and a 15th century nave. Unusual : in the village, an old synagogue was discovered in 1986 under the attic of a private house. A small oratory decorated with wall paintings and Hebrew inscriptions adorns the attic. Its origin dates back to 1723, a place of prayer for a blind man. Clandestine synagogue? No, the archives show that the pastor of the time wanted to ban this "devil's synagogue" but it was tolerated by the lords.
