Wasselonne, already known to Neolithic man, developed in Celtic and Gallo-Roman times. Today, the remains of its castle and square watchtower can still be admired. The town's many stone-sculpted signs or lintel keys are still to be admired today: these emblems symbolize the diversity of the trades that once made the area prosperous. The Protestant church, built in 1757, boasts an interesting Silbermann organ case. The tourist office organizes themed guided tours. Like its main square, where a weekly market is held, Wasselonne is a pleasant, lively and flower-filled town.
