Wangen has many vestiges of its medieval past: a surrounding wall and turret from the 11th century, the Sommertor tower, plush farmhouses that testify to the wealth generated by the wine industry that has been practiced here for a long time... We will also see the church of Saint-Etienne, rebuilt in 1830 with elements from previous constructions, such as the Romanesque tympanum and the stained glass window representing the enthroned Christ. Every year, on July 3 or the Sunday following that date, wine flows from the beautiful fountain in the Place de l'Église in commemoration of the resistance of the inhabitants of the village to a tax taken directly from the winegrowers' barrels.
