This charming village occupies a site that was already frequented in Neolithic times! Strolling through its narrow, picturesque streets, you can contemplate a number of relics of its long past: windows and monster heads dating back to the 11th century, the bell tower of the Protestant church, which also houses a 17th-century sandstone pulpit and an inlaid wooden altar from 1701, the castle built around 1450 and restored several times, handsome timber-framed houses.... The town's strategic importance had not escaped the attention of the German War Ministry, which erected a pillbox on the hilltop in 1914.
