In the 16th century, the Massaut family built a château, a replica of its big brother, Château de Cousserans in the commune of Bélaye. It wasn't until 1853 that the commune of Anglars-Juillac was drawn, made up of a piece of Albas and a piece of Belaye. It's here, amidst the vineyards, that live entertainment flourishes in the Lot Valley, at the Scène d'Anglars, which hosts artists in residence and shows for the general public: theater, dance, music, puppetry and circus are regularly performed here. Anglars-Juillac's contribution to cultural outreach in rural areas is quite an achievement. A pleasant place to cycle through the vineyards.
