It is a pretty village situated in the heart of the Lot valley vineyards, surrounded by hills and bordered by the river Lot. The village is dominated by the Château de la Coste, a 13th century fortress, square in shape, offering a pretty view over the vineyards and the Lot valley. The history of Grézels is strongly intertwined with that of this castle. Heavily damaged during the Hundred Years' War, it was first restored in the 14th century, looted during the Wars of Religion, transformed in the 17th century and finally sold as a national asset after the Revolution. In 1960 it finally found buyers and its new owners restored it.
