Floressas, with its poetic name, was the homeland of an Occitan poet by the name of Paul Froment (1875-1898). His maxim was "More than a king, the ploughman has the right to rise". He left two collections: A travers champs and Fleurs de printemps. The history of this small hilltop village takes us back to the time of knights and lords. Two castles remain from this medieval past: Château de Floressas (14th century), slightly set back from the village, and Château de Chambert, whose vineyards were already mentioned in the 13thcentury . Today, Floressas is part of a wine tourism strategy based around the Laur and Chambert vineyards.
