Castelfranc is a former 13th-century bastide town belonging to the bishop of Cahors. The much-revamped Notre-Dame church (14th century), with its handsome west facade, is topped by a fortified bell tower. Several hiking trails lead to magnificent dolmens and a calvary with a breathtaking view over the valley. In the heart of the village, the Garden of the Senses offers a romantic break. The banks of the Lot are easily accessible for fishing, picnics or supervised swimming in summer. You can even rent a canoe. Good to know: the village of Castelfranc is home to two flea markets. It's a great place to stroll.
