Lambesc is located about fifteen kilometres from Aix-en-Provence on the D67. Nestled in a green setting, this city was established as a principality by Louis XIV and nicknamed the little Versailles of Aix. Political capital of Provence and seat of the general assemblies of the communities from 1639 to 1787, its center has many mansions dating from its glorious era. In addition to the church with its splendid altarpieces and works of illustrious painters of the 17th century, you can also admire a beautiful washhouse from 1759, a belfry topped by its jacquemart as well as the museum, a true memory of this city where Madame de Sévigné stayed.
