Created during the Revolution, then reunited with Villecomtal in 1832 before being detached in 1853, Campuac, crossed by the GR 6 hiking trail, has been part of the Comtal, Lot et Truyère community of municipalities since January 2017. In the past, its territory was divided between several communities and lordships while its parish depended on the abbot of Conques. Its heritage includes a neo-Romanesque church, Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens, rebuilt in the 19th century to replace an older building, a chapel dedicated to St. Anthony, of which some remains, as well as a domerie located in the forest at Teissières.
