Four castles existed here around the 14th and 15th centuries. They were connected to each other by a circular line of high walls surrounded by ditches. There are only imposing ruins left today, with the exception of one which is undergoing serious restoration, the castle of Servayrie (unfortunately, this little marvel is no longer open to visitors for the moment, as the owners have other projects in preparation). The church has also disappeared, but you can still see some old houses, some medieval with Romanesque or Gothic doors and windows. At La Capelle-Mouret, the church with its pre-Romanesque nave has historiated capitals. During the construction of the Gothic door, a carved tympanum was turned over... inwards!
