In one of the most beautiful passages of the Aveyron Gorge, Belcastel is a sudden appearance in a landscape that seemed almost deserted. The silhouette of its steep castle dominates a small village over which time does not seem to have taken hold. Belcastel amply deserves to be one of the most beautiful villages in France. Today, the owners of the village, influenced by the work of the castle, have restored the old houses as well as possible, which means that the whole village has regained its old character. In addition, the tourist office has marked out a circuit in the sloping alleys and organises guided tours all year round.
