At the foot of the Aubrac, the village of Estaing, worthy of the most breathtaking settings of the "Lord of the Rings", is established at the confluence of the Lot and the Coussane. In the streets, you can still admire beautiful facades dating from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, including the Hôtel Cayron - the present-day town hall - and the old college. In addition to the important pilgrimage of Saint Fleuret, Estaing benefited from being on the road to Santiago de Compostela which crossed the Lot thanks to the Gothic bridge. The latter, classified as a Unesco World Heritage Site, has been restored. It supports in its center the cross of Estaing, so famous that it symbolizes the Aveyron and was reproduced in jewellery.
