Golinhac is a stopover village on the road to Santiago de Compostela. It is situated at an altitude of 649 m, overlooking the Lot valley. Its pre-Romanesque church, fortified around 1350, combines Romanesque and Gothic elements, as well as a few blocks of architecture dating from the Gallo-Roman period. Its Romanesque altar has been classified as a historical monument. Higher up, to the north-west of the village, culminates the "Puech de Régault" - or hill of the gaze - on which was erected in 1948 Notre-Dame-des-Hauteurs which overlooks the Lot gorges. From the orientation table, you can see the Entraygues valley, the Aubrac and Cantal mountains.
