Located just over 4 km from Orgeval, the municipality of Des-le-Roi has just under 1 200 souls. At the beginning of the th century, King Louis VI was frequently opposed to his neighbors in Normandy, who had built a strong castle, which remained almost nothing. The first village that developed around it was called Alleu-le-Roi ("Alleu" meaning "land exempt from taxes"). The village is also known for its extraction stone extraction. Moreover, quarries provided stone Paris in the time of Baron Haussmann. As for the inhabitants, they are simply referred to as "the people of the Alluets".
