A pretty little town just a few kilometers from Rambouillet, Le Perray is located in an unrivalled natural setting, with an immense forest nearby. It was founded under the reign of Louis IX, thanks to the passage of the stony road from Paris to Chartres, which attracted illustrious visitors such as Louis XV, Louis XVI and Napoleon I. The church of Saint-Eloi, consecrated in 1242, and the Pont Napoléon (Napoleon Bridge) are just some of the sights worth seeing here. The commune also boasts three bodies of water: the Artoire aqueduct, the Etang du Perray and the Etang de Saint-Hubert - on whose banks Louis XV had a château built, of which only the terrace remains.
