From Deck-Monasterium, a name found in the year 711, to Life-Church in 1694, passing through Deck-Eclesia in the 1200 s, the village was always attached to its past. It was only in 1939 that the location in Yvelines was added in the name of the commune, well before the creation of the department, which took the name of the historic forest that façonna its territory. The lands of the Old Church belonged successively to the abbey of Saint-Denis and then to the lords of Montfort and then to the family of Angennes. The forest gave way to the Middle Ages, but there were probably ancient Roman settlements, as in other sites in the region. During huge hydraulic work undertaken in the th century to feed Versailles's water games, wonderful works were shaped and it is pleasant to discover aqueducts and culverts by walking along the trails. Forest history left a forest pavilion near the Tower Pond. Today, the village of 800 souls consists of beautiful bourgeois houses, where you admire the harmonious roofs of the old farms and the moss walls, typical of the francilienne region.
