ERHARD, LES DESSERTS
Read moreEhrhardt desserts are first and foremost a family story, Alsace and ice cream. Since its beginnings as a ice factory in the 1980 s, small businesses have opened up to pastry, increased the number of its plants, opened a R & D center to become a real «glacier creator». In 2017, Ehrhardt made the choice of direct selling by opening an atypical space to Kingersheim in an industrial and contemporary spirit. The room is divided between a commercial part where all the frozen desserts of the house can be purchased and a part of the tea room or one tasting ice cuts, cakes accompanied by tea/coffee/hot chocolate, but also milkshakes and smoothies made locally.

The shelves are also well stocked with traditional household linen, recipe books, cloth advent calendars, decoration kits for the famous "manalas" and other typical Alsatian delicacies (honey, jams, bredalas, mulled wine spices, red wine confit with spices, beer terrine...). Finally, the most difficult thing is to choose from the many products on display: you really don't know where to turn your head! A must if you are looking for a typical gift or simply in the grip of an irresistible burst of delicacy.

DOMAINE DANIEL RUFF
Read moreThe Ruff family has been cultivating vines since 1886 through four generations. Located at the foot of Mont Sainte-Odile, their 15 ha estate (in the process of obtaining High Environmental Value certification) is spread over 4 very distinct terroirs, including La Grange. Situated on the Heiligenstein bank, the Weinberg is mainly planted with Riesling and Pinot Gris, while the Schwendehiesel is entirely dedicated to Klevener (or pink Savagin). As for the Fronholz of Epfig, it is mainly planted with Riesling. A great specialist in Klevener (it is in Heiligenstein that this 8th grape variety of Alsace was planted and recognized in 1742), the Ruff estate produces many other wines that are regularly praised by specialists. This is the case for the Crémant d'Alsace Cuvée Prestige (Gold Medal of the Crémants of France), the Riesling Fronholz 2018 (Gold Medal at the Concours des Vins de Colmar) and the Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives 2016 (Gold Medal at the Concours des Gewurztraminers du Monde). VINS D’ALSACE HIRTZ JEAN ET FILS
Read moreThis large 9-hectare estate has been run by Edy and Elisabeth for about twenty years. They cultivate the seven Alsatian grape varieties: Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Muscat and Gewurztraminer as well as the Grand Cru de Zotzenberg. By ecological choice, we treat as little as possible and pick the grapes by hand. The vinification traditionally carried out by Edy gives time to the wines in maturation (6 to 12 months) before bottling. And this is reflected in the final product, which is simply divine and can be enjoyed after a visit to the farm. Not to be missed: the great wines of Zotzenberg which, due to their marl and limestone origin, are distinguished by their great finesse and exceptional body. These are wines that can be kept for a long time. Located on the south side of the Mittelbergheim hill, which rises to 320 metres, Zotzenberg is a basin exposed to the east and south, and enjoys a privileged amount of sunshine. Its terroir is only 36.45 hectares in size!
DOMAINE ROLAND SCHMITT

All three have at heart to produce wines magnifying the terroirs, in particular those of the Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergbieten and the Glintzberg area adjacent to the Altenberg. The wines are put on sale 6 months after bottling for fruit wines and 10 months for terroir wines. This is what produces critically acclaimed wines. To be tasted, for example, during your visit: the Riesling Glinzberg, the Crémant d'Alsace "Les Bulles de Noémie" (a delicious blend of pinot blanc and pinot noir) and the Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergbieten en Vendanges Tardives.

In addition, the year 2015 was marked by the purchase of 10 oak tuns designed to promote micro-oxygenation of the wines. The Mersiols produce all the Alsatian grape varieties in the Tradition range, Pinots Gris, Rieslings and Gewurztraminers from the Grand Cru Frankstein (Terroir range), as well as the totally irresistible Vendanges Tardives and Sélections de Grains Nobles (Prestige range), not forgetting the Crémants d'Alsace.
