We love to spend a moment in this artisanal bakery where we offer ourselves a breakfast with pure butter buns. As a snack, we succumb to the charm of the vanilla mille-feuille! But above all, there are these incredible breads made with natural leaven and organic flour: with cereals, pumpkin seeds, small spelt, olives or even cocoa! They come out of the oven hot all day long. A pure delight! And for small and large events, the catering service is a hit.

COVERED MARKET

Market
4/5
2 reviews

The Halmar market was built in 1865. Its location on the edge of the Lauch once allowed the garners to move their goods onto flat-bottom barks and unload them directly at the gates designed for this purpose. Today, this fine example of Second Empire architecture with its bricks and columns serves as a framework for a beautiful covered market where twenty exhibitors take their souls in a vast space dedicated as much to the sale of goods as to conviviality: butchers, stealth, baker, cheese, fish harvester, pastry maker, Italian caterer, Italian caterer, Alsatian specialties, farm products, Alsace wines, spirits… The covered market leads to a healthy return to rhythmic proximity to the seasons by local products of quality that blend with various flavors of the world. There is also the embarrassment of choice on site or to take away: Pretzels and sandwiches, bustling pie, good soups and vegetarian dishes, Tunisian or Vietnamese specialties… One of the establishments has a large terrace above the Lauch. Finally: every first Friday of the month, the covered market of Colmar hosts concerts (pop, rock, blues, rap, salsa, song…) as part of Stage Off.

3.5/5
2 reviews

Caprices is a real institution located in the city center of Mulhouse. The years pass, the city changes but this exceptional chocolate maker is still true to itself, at the top, that only great professionals are capable of doing. The Metzger family managed to combine the trade of confectioner-chocolate maker with real artistic talent, offering enticed lovers a wonderful show for the eyes and the tastebuds. Admiring real themed works of art in the window (for example edible books full of chocolates for the beginning of the new school year...) is already a way of giving in to these pleasures and accept to open the doors to learn more. There, myriads of chocolate, petit fours and specialities of all kinds seem to call you out to take them home. Lovers of candied chestnuts and fruit jellies will not be outdone, you will find forgotten flavours. Caprice is a real tradition house with a talented artisan chocolate maker at the helm. As Oscar Wilde said it: "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it." What are you waiting for?
