Small town of medieval origin with about 2,200 inhabitants, its historic center is organized around a beautiful Plaza Mayor typically Castilian. The city was an important stronghold between the 10th and 12th centuries, located on the border between the kingdom of Navarre and the county of Castile. Located at the foot of the old castle (now disappeared), the church of Santa María la Mayor preserves a Renaissance altarpiece from the 16th century, while the church of San Pedro, dating from the 17th century, is distinguished by its bell tower. Belorado is home to several restaurants, most of them located in the Plaza Mayor, as well as numerous bars and shops.
