Situated on the banks of the Arlanza river, this whole village of about 540 inhabitants is a little marvel. Walking through its picturesque streets, you enter a real history book. Do not miss the collegiate church of San Cosme and San Damián, which houses a 16th-century cloister and a 17th-century organ, nor the wall, built in the 7th century and transformed in the 15th. The Plazas del Obispo Peña and Doña Sanchez are the best places to appreciate the unique architecture of this authentic village, with its arcaded streets and beautiful timber-framed houses. Since 2017, Covarrubias has joined the club of the prettiest villages in Spain.
