A small town of 40,000 inhabitants located on the Costa Verde, halfway between Rio and São Paulo, Paraty, or Parati, is set between a magnificent bay of nearly 65 islands, and the Mata Atlântica forest that plunges down from the hills of the Serra da Bocaina National Park. In this exceptional natural setting, the scenery is enchanting. However, it is above all for its history and old stones that Paraty has become a jewel in the crown of Brazilian tourism. People come from all over the world to visit its historic center, which was born in the days of the "gold cycle". A Unesco World Heritage site, Paraty is extraordinarily well preserved.
