This former Cistercian abbey was founded on the site of a Benedictine priory. After the Revolution, the transformation was more radical: the monastery became a castle, and of the 12th century church only a few sections of the walls, part of the apse and the choir remained, as well as, fortunately, the 13th century chapel with its frescoes painted by Le Primatice in the 16th century. A superb park of 30 hectares surrounds the abbey. It was designed by Cardinal d'Este, creator of the famous Tivoli gardens. The walk allows you to discover three hundred year old trees, statues, water features and a beautiful rose garden.
