Located on a hill, this village is an excellent observation position on the surrounding plains. This did not escape the men of the Middle Ages who built a fort castle called Mons Specularum, that is, the Mont's mount. The scene was the scene of an unknown episode of the Hundred Years War. In 1429, English troops withdrew in front of the advanced Charles VII armies ordered by Joan d'Arc. A battle fought and forced the English to slip, without glory, during the night. The fortress was dismantled under the reign of Henri IV. There is only one dungeon today surrounded by a farm. His shredded and terriblement romantique is visible from a distance.
