Baron has kept its typical French village appearance over the decades. Its imposing church, Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul Church, is one of the first thirteen monuments in the Oise to be classified as a Historic Monument and was made famous by the passage of Joan of Arc in 1429. Its inhabitants are called the Baronese.
