Built on the banks of the Baïse, it is one of the most beautiful bastides of the Lot-et-Garonne. It was founded in 1284 by the king of England and the local lord, Jourdain de L'Isle. The latter gave the village the name of his aunt Vianne de Gontaud Biron. Take a stroll through its streets to discover the ramparts, the impressive gates and corner towers as well as the Romanesque church. If you are in Vianne during the summer, don't miss the friendly night market on Fridays from 6pm. And if you are still around during the annual snail races, go for it! A treat for lovers of this dish.
