Situated in the loop of the River Lot, just 18 km from Cahors, the village of Parnac owes its fame to the wine trade, of which it is still a major centre today. It is home to the Vinovalie Cave des Côtes d'Olt cooperative, as well as numerous independent wineries. Parnac is not only a must for tasting the famous Malbec grape, but also for nature-lovers, who can explore the surrounding hiking trails or the "voie verte", a popular route for cyclists. The 17th-century church of Saint-Saturnin, with its altarpiece, and the 14th-century church of Cels are well worth a visit.
