Voisins-le-Bretonneux discovered its aeronautical vocation in the early 20th century, thanks to its famous resident Hélène Boucher (1908-1934), who accomplished the feat of flying alone from Paris to Saigon, before going on to set seven world records. Marked by a strong agricultural tradition, the town became part of the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines territory, and its former rural areas were transformed into suburban neighborhoods. Economically dynamic, it is home to a number of major companies. Over the years, Voisins has built up a number of cultural and sports complexes, ensuring an impeccable quality of life for its 12,000 residents.
