Inhabited since prehistoric times, Noisy long belonged to the diocese of Chartres. In the Middle Ages, the fief was twinned with that of Bailly. At the beginning of the 16th century, the land became part of the royal domain. Gondi, advisor to Charles IX, had the château and outbuildings renovated and embellished. In 1607, the château sheltered the future Louis XIII from the plague. After its incorporation into the Grand Parc de Versailles by Louis XIV, Noisy was home to other famous guests. Le Nôtre and La Quintinie laid out the park, orchard and kitchen garden. In the 18th century, the château was rebuilt by a lieutenant in Louis XV's hunting department. Today, you can still see the large Gondi Gate from the old château.
