Chambourcy is surrounded by two forests: Saint-Germain-en-Laye to the south and Marly to the north. Its territory is also irrigated by the Ru de Buzot, a small tributary of the Seine. The town is home to the church of Sainte-Clotilde, which houses the relics of the saint of the same name, Queen of the Franks and second wife of Clovis. To the north of the town, on the site of the former abandoned village of Saint-Jacques-de-Retz, lies the magnificent Désert du Retz: a 40-hectare Anglo-Chinese garden, one of the best preserved in France. Also worth a visit are the remains of Joyenval Abbey, founded in 1224 and now a golf course.
