Comprising about 16,000 inhabitants who answer to the name of Jocassiens, the town of Jouy-le-Moutier has long been a rural village, and more particularly wine. It underwent significant development in the 1970s after it became part of the new town of Cergy-Pontoise, but here, the rural environment has been preserved, and the heritage of the town carefully highlighted. Spreading harmoniously from the plateau to the banks of the Oise, it includes modern neighborhoods and a village center that has retained its old houses. The jewel of its heritage remains the church Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité-Saint-Leu (12th century).
