At the confluence of the Seine and Oise rivers, the town of Andrésy has been considered a strategic location since antiquity, and Julius Caesar stationed a war fleet here to keep watch over Lutetia and northern Gaul. Today, Andrésy is an international waterway crossroads, on a route linking Rouen and the Netherlands. The banks of both rivers are popular places for strolling. From the Coteau, you have an exceptional view of the main Parisian buildings. For over 20 years, the city has organized a contemporary art exhibition on the Île Nancy: "Sculptures en l'Île", featuring some 50 artists from all over the world.
