Just a few kilometers south of Créon, this small rural commune with a population of some 800 is located in the Cadillac appellation area of the Entre-deux-Mers vineyards. In fact, it is home to a number of winegrowing estates around its pretty little listed Romanesque church dating from the 14th and 15th centuries. Notable vineyards in the commune include Château de Haute-Sage, also a listed monument, as well as Château du Coureau and Château Peneau. Château Lamothe de Haux is particularly noteworthy for its impressive troglodyte underground cellars.
