The six hamlets of Zalana range in altitude from 600 to 700 meters and are nestled in a forest of chestnut trees, most of which are centuries old. Don't miss the 16th-century Genoese Alisu bridge over the Bravona river, on the road between Zalana and Matra (1h30 round trip). Take the time to visit the baroque Church of the Annunciation, in the heart of the hamlet of Belfasca. This 18th-century Romanesque church is said to have been built over an ancient chapel. Its steeple was demolished in 1927, and its bells rested on rails. Thanks to the Fondation du Patrimoine and a local association, the building has now been renovated.
