Tox is a medieval village, whose name is said to mean "tocsin". Tower-houses can still be seen in its unspoilt setting. Listed as a Monument Historique, the 16th-century church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste is essentially in the Baroque Revival style, but has Romanesque foundations. As for the oratory, it is the work of local artists: its paintings were created by the painter Polleri, and the altar by Ignace Raffali, a craftsman from Piedicroce, who made several pieces of furniture and altars for other churches in Castagniccia. Finally, you can visit the Madonna de Grazie chapel, a place of pilgrimage with a beautiful panorama.
