This charming little village, the gateway to Castagniccia, just twenty minutes from Ponte-Leccia, is famous throughout Corsica, as the birthplace on April 6, 1725 of "the father of the nation", General Pasquale Paoli. Be sure to visit the house where he lived. The house and its oratory were listed on April 28, 1975. Above, a lovely walk to the old pre-Romanesque church of Santa-Reparata. In the southernmost hamlet, towards Ponte-Leccia, look for the butcher who is also an excellent producer of goat's cheese. Nice table at L'Osteria di U Cunventu.
