Don't miss the old Franciscan convent of Alesani and its 17th century baroque church, listed as a Historical Monument. It is considered to be the first of the order founded inland. The Giovannali sect is said to have found refuge there before its extermination. On April 15, 1736, an extraordinary adventure began that would fascinate Europe. By being elected King of Corsica, Baron Théodore de Neuhoff gave birth to the constitution known as "d'Alesani". The Moor's head which appeared on his coat of arms will be taken over by Pasquale Paoli as a symbol of independent Corsica. In summer, the convent is open on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 2.30 pm to 6 pm.
