It's probably the most photographed village in Corsica. Listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, Sant'Antonino, a veritable eagle's nest at 500 meters altitude, was founded in the early 9th century. Built as a belvedere, the site offers sweeping views of the Balagne, the Mediterranean and the mountains. The village has retained its medieval architecture and some fortifications, so that time seems to have stood still in its narrow streets lined with steep staircases, high steps and vaulted passageways. Below the village, the 12th-century Annonciade parish church houses a beautiful organ by Battista Pompost di Pistoia.
