Surrounded by peaks, the municipality, which is very extensive, has important prehistoric remains, such as the Castellu d'Arraghiu, a large Cyclopean fortification. Specialists believe that it was not a village, but a fallback point: the site is large enough to accommodate families with their herds in the event of conflict or siege. With its system of towers, enclosures and patrols, the castellu is one of the most elaborate Bronze Age fortresses in Corsica. The village is a starting point to discover the natural treasures of the area, such as the forest of Ospédale or the waterfall of Piscia di Gallu.
